Responsible Gaming Support

Our Commitment to Responsible Gaming

At Draw List Lotto, we are dedicated to conducting our charity raffle in a responsible and ethical manner. While our primary goal is to raise funds for important community causes, we recognize the importance of ensuring that all participants engage with our raffle responsibly and within their means.

Important Reminder: This raffle should be viewed as a form of entertainment and charitable giving, not as a way to make money or solve financial problems. Please participate responsibly.

What Does Responsible Gaming Mean?

Responsible gaming means:

  • Viewing raffle participation as entertainment, not as an investment or income source
  • Only spending money you can afford to lose
  • Setting a budget for ticket purchases and sticking to it
  • Being aware of the odds and understanding that most participants will not win
  • Not borrowing money to purchase raffle tickets
  • Recognizing when participation is becoming problematic
  • Seeking help if you or someone you know shows signs of gambling problems

Age Requirements

18+ Only: You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in Draw List Lotto charity raffle draws.

In Ontario, the legal age for participating in raffles and gaming activities is 18 years. We strictly enforce this requirement and will verify age through government-issued identification when necessary.

Why Age Restrictions Matter

  • Young people are more vulnerable to developing gambling problems
  • Age restrictions are required by law and regulatory bodies
  • Minors lack the financial maturity to make informed decisions about gambling
  • Early exposure to gambling can lead to long-term issues

Parents and Guardians: Please ensure that minors do not have access to purchase raffle tickets. We ask for your cooperation in keeping this activity adult-only.

Recognizing Problem Gambling

While our raffle is intended as a charitable fundraising activity, we recognize that some individuals may have difficulties with gambling in general. Here are some warning signs that may indicate a gambling problem:

Warning Signs Include:

  • Spending more money on gambling than you can afford to lose
  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund gambling activities
  • Feeling the need to gamble with increasing amounts of money
  • Becoming restless or irritable when trying to cut down on gambling
  • Gambling to escape problems or relieve feelings of helplessness, guilt, anxiety, or depression
  • Lying to family members or others to hide the extent of gambling
  • Jeopardizing or losing important relationships, jobs, or opportunities because of gambling
  • Relying on others to provide money to relieve desperate financial situations caused by gambling
  • Repeatedly trying to cut back or stop gambling without success
  • Preoccupation with gambling (reliving past experiences, planning future gambling, thinking of ways to get money to gamble)
If you recognize these signs in yourself or someone you care about, please seek help immediately. Problem gambling is treatable, and support is available.

Charitable Purpose & Transparency

Draw List Lotto exists to support charitable causes in our community. We want to emphasize that participation should be viewed primarily as a way to contribute to these worthy causes, with the chance to win a prize as a secondary benefit.

Our Commitment to Transparency:

  • We clearly communicate where raffle proceeds are directed
  • We provide information about the odds of winning
  • We maintain detailed financial records and comply with all regulatory requirements
  • We never exaggerate or misrepresent the likelihood of winning
  • We do not target vulnerable populations or use predatory marketing practices

Our goal is to create a positive experience for participants while raising meaningful funds for charity. We believe this is best achieved through transparency, honesty, and a commitment to responsible gaming practices.

Remember: Every dollar you spend on a raffle ticket is primarily a charitable donation. View any potential prize as a bonus, not an expectation.
